Ozello Trail Ride

We’ll start on the Florida’s west coast with the Ozello Trail Ride. This is a short ride through the wetlands of Crystal River Preserve State Park. This route offers a nature getaway with multiple side roads to explore along the way, offering opportunities for some much-needed alone time away from civilization. This route ends at Peck’s Old Port Cove, a highly-regarded restaurant great for lunch and perfect for dinner to watch the sunset over the waters.

Sugarloaf Mountain Ride

Our next destination is just outside of Orlando sits the beautiful Lake Apopka. The “Sugarloaf Mountain Ride” takes you around this large body of water until you end up in downtown Orlando. Starting in Apopka, this option gives the opportunity to grab a bite to eat in quaint downtown Mt. Dora before getting to the “main course” of the trip. The road travels through mostly suburban and rural landscapes with cattle farms and orange groves. If traveling during the spring, this ride will come with the sweet citrus smell of oranges.

This route offers a surprising change from the level terrain of Florida, with multiple hills and tight corners, taking you up Sugarloaf Mountain. The highlight of this trip is the top of the mountain, providing a picturesque view of Lake Apopka and the Orlando city skyline in the distance. This is an excellent option for those who feel deprived of elevated views while living in Florida. The final leg of this route wraps back around Lake Apopka towards Orlando and can be extended into downtown Orlando, around Lake Eola, for those seeking an urban atmosphere.

East coast beach ride

The final trip takes us along the east coast of Florida. This scenic route starts in Delray Beach and takes us north along the coast, ending in Jupiter Island. To make this extra romantic, this trip should be started at dawn. This would provide a beautiful view of the sunrise over the Atlantic Ocean during the ride. The majority of this trip is traveled on State Road A1A, or Sebastian Inlet Causeway, which is elevated enough to give an excellent view of the ocean for miles. This will take you through multiple water-front destinations including Boynton Beach, West Palm Beach and Riviera Beach. You may even catch a glimpse of Jimmy Buffet’s mansion in Palm Beach. There are countless water-front restaurants and bars along the road, ranging from classy French cuisine (Cafe Boulud in Palm Beach) to your good ol’ fashioned beach bar and grills (Dixie Grill and Bar). Most Floridian bikers know what to expect on a coastal cruise, however, these rides rarely disappoint.
