The all new 2015 Polaris Slingshot has officially been revealed and the neat looking three wheeler will surely get your attention with its unique bluster. It may be only one wheel away from being a car, but it’s absence of doors, a roof and airbags, legally classifies it as a motorcycle. State laws will apply in the US as to what license you require to operate one and in Canada, the Slingshot is considered a three-wheel motorcycle. The front view is visually more appealing to look at, while the back is a bit awkward, but the new speedy roadster allows you to hit those twisty canyon roads with a friend at your side for an exhilarating experience.
The 2015 Polaris Slingshot holds a 2.4L DOHC Ecotec engine up front which produces 173 HP at 6200 RPM and the five speed manual transmission sends power to the back wheel. The vehicle’s dry weight sits at 1684 lbs which is a lot lesser than a conventional car. It measures at 77.6 inches wide and 51.9 inches in height with a 105 inch wheel base and clears the ground at 5 inches. The body work is nothing short of outstanding. It comes with a premium wheel set with the front pair measuring at 18 inches and the rear wheel at 20 inches. Its fashionable side mirrors, reverse tilt hood and waterproof seats also give the roadster some style.
Some more notable features include its center-mounted 3-point seat belts, locking glove box, projector-beam headlights, LED taillights, 4.3 inch LCD color touchscreen, USB input, Bluetooth integration, 6 speaker audio output and two lockable storage bins which fits a helmet, standard backpack or like-size luggage.
Now for the question we’ve all been waiting for. How much does it cost? It starts from $19,999 for the base model while the SL version will put you deeper into your pocket sitting at $23,999.
